Are you missing one or more teeth?

If so, then dental implants at our Glenmore Park dental clinic could be the ideal treatment for you. They offer a fixed solution to tooth loss and behave just like natural teeth.

What exactly are they?

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are made from titanium. They look like screws and are surgically placed by dentists into the jaw bone. Once in position, they can then be used to support a crown, a bridge, or in conjunction with other implants, to support an entire row of teeth.

Dental implants in Glenmore Park – What’s the procedure?

Our dentist takes a series of 3-D scans using CBCT technology to ensure you have plenty of healthy bone in your jaw and to aid with placement. If you have insufficient bone, our Glenmore Park dental practice may recommend a bone graft.

Once an implant has been surgically placed into the empty tooth socket, it’s left for several weeks to enable the bone to fuse to it. Depending on its location, you may wear a temporary crown during this time.

As soon as fusion has occurred, the ‘temporary’ is removed and replaced with a custom permanent crown and your smile is beautifully restored.

Replacing one or more teeth

Tooth implants at our Glenmore Park dental clinic aren’t just used to replace a single tooth. They can be used in conjunction with a dental bridge to replace several missing adjacent teeth. Even if you have lost all your teeth, a full arch of natural-looking teeth can be held in place by as few as 4 dental implants.

What are the benefits of a dental implant in Glenmore Park?

There are several benefits including,

  • Preventing further bone loss – They are the only form of missing teeth replacement to achieve this
  • Keeping adjacent teeth stable- As a permanent structure in the mouth a tooth implant will prevent other teeth from moving
  • Restoring full chewing power
  • Long-lasting abilities – Provided they are cared for correctly, they can last for several decades or more
